We can provide you with many types of wide-format drawing scanners including, Ana Tech, Oce, Vidar, and Ideal. Scanning Service

AA Scan can help you capture your large drawings into a digital format that can be used for modification and electronic drawing management. There are two avenues at this point; Raster Scanning or Vector Scanning.

Raster Scanning

This means we can capture an image or a bitmap of your drawing that is inexpensive and small in size. This file type is typically TIF or CAL, which can be edited in most CAD software with the appropriate add-on software.

 

This process is typically the best way to convert your drawings into a digital format and is usually cost effective when you have more than 50 drawings.

We can also come to your facility to convert your drawings, or the work can be produced at our facility in Akron, Ohio. For a more detailed description on how drawing scanning can benefit your office, please visit our application story section.

Vector Scanning

During this process, we will capture an image of your drawings, much like we can in the above section. At this point we will convert the raster image into a vector file, such as a DXF or DWG file. This process will convert the raster image into lines, circles and arcs.

If you have a large number of drawings that you would like to modify, we don't suggest this process. Vector scanning is designed for topographic maps, and is usually not acceptable for most applications.
